What is the point of window film?

When you use window film, especially Diplomats Window Film, you can block out as much as 90% of infrared heat and 80% of solar heat by causing it to bounce off the glass and out away from the building. During the winter seasons, the same film will help retain interior heat and reduce heating costs by 20% to 45%. All films have a built in 99% ultra violet, and you will often break even on this investment in less than two years.
